Our Ice Cream

At Leatherby’s Family Creamery, we take pride in preparing freshly whipped cream, thick homemade sauces, and rich handmade ice cream. Daily, you will find us making our ice cream right here in our parlor! Using time-tested family recipes and the highest quality ingredients, we believe that our fresh ice cream and sauces are the secret to our success.

We offer over 30 different amazing ice cream creations! Our most popular sundae is the “Alan’s Black & Tan” featuring a tall sundae glass filled with toasted almond and vanilla ice cream, matched with both chocolate and caramel sauce and topped with whip cream, chopped almonds and a cherry. We are also famous for our “Daddy Dave's Banana Split”, which is known to turn heads and drops jaws when it is placed on the counter. This enormous banana split contains 54 oz of ice cream, heaping spoonfuls of 3 sauces and is topped with a generous scoop of whip cream, chopped almonds and cherries. Whether you are ordering a single scoop cone, milk shake, or strawberry shortcake, you sweet tooth is sure to be satisfied!

As Sacramento landmark, we have been chosen “Best Ice Cream” for nearly 30 years. Our hand-made ice cream, sauces and toppings are available for purchase at all three of our locations to take home in both regular and bulk sizes.

You can observe us producing one of our 30+ flavors of ice cream nearly every day of the week, and if you’re lucky, you might catch the lingering aromas of caramel, chocolate and pineapple as they boil to perfection in our large 60 gallon candy kettle. We even grow our walnuts and pecans on the family farm north of Sacramento!

Kids of all ages love to watch the variety of flavors flow out of our ice cream machines, into giant buckets and then placed directly into a freezer 30 degrees below zero. This process guarantees you the freshest, highest quality taste that you will enjoy when visiting our creamery!
